A Productive Day at the Studio

Fresh Bowls! Part of today's haul :)

Fresh Bowls! Part of today's haul 🙂

Whew… it’s been a super-productive day at the studio today. From dropping by the TTDI market cake shop at 9.30 in the morning to pick up a fresh supply of cake bases (for throwing bats), and then wedging a humongous chunk of clay, and throwing throwing throwing… the first bowl flopped like a jellyfish out of water, but after that, it was smooth sailing (oooh notice the seafaring references? I’m so into facebook when it speaks Pirate English!)

All in all, I threw a total of 4 large 1kg bowls, and 3 small flared bowls and was out of the studio at 1pm. Came back at 4 and trimmed them all, plus two more large bowls from the previous day. *pats self on back*. I am all throwed out! I think the flared bowls will make great kitchen prep bowls, or snack bowls… I really like the feel of holding a narrow-based bowl in the cup of my hand. It feels snug, and so natural, it’s like eating out of an extension of my hands! The large bowls will be more spa arrangement bowls. Four more to go!
